McKercher County Park/Wayside
Day use: open year-round. Stunning scenic views await visitors and tall Douglas and white fir trees offer shade for those who want to picnic in the summer sun. The little plunge pools of the Calapooia River offer a prime attraction for swimmers to this picturesque area. Swim, picnic, fish or just relax, McKercher Park is a beautiful wayside along Highway 228.
Crawsfordsville Covered Bridge Wayside
Day use: open year-round Description: When the covered bridge needed replacing, the State Highway Department (now the Transportation Department) bypassed the bridge at the request of local residents. On October 10, 1963 the Highway Department transferred ownership of the bridge to Linn County. In 1990, the Crawfordsville Missionary Alliance Church Youth Group in conjunction with the Robinett Family acquired approximately 1/10 of an acre at the SW corner of the bridge to provide an area for picnicking.
