Welcome to the Alsea Valley Country Trail!

The Yakonan Indians called it Alsi. Lewis and Clark named it Ulseah.
This is the "other way" to the coast-- breathtakingly beautiful. The Alsea River cuts through a spectacular valley, rises over the Coast Range and flows across the rugged ledges of the Pacific. Highway 34 tags along the river from Philomath to Waldport, borders the tributaries of Mary's River and Crooked Creek, swings around Digger Mountain, and snakes its way to the sea.
This is your adventure: We're sending you to the crafts, arts, alpaca ranches, farm stays, fishing holes, research fish hatcheries, wineries, waterfalls, organic farms, boating, camping, B&B's, nurseries, herb gardens, historical gardens, and mercantiles.
Enjoy the journey!
